Look what I found! Moo hoo ha ha. :D

...and not the other way around. Ok, so I had this icon a few years ago of a little toony drawing I did of myself. It looked very much like the one I have here on this post. Only thing is, since I drew that picture, I've lost it. And I've lost the icon a few times. And the quality on it was shitty to boot. As you can see.

So I tossed it in Photoshop to see what I could do with it. My hair is huge. I thought it needed more space, so I bumped up the canvas size a bit. Then I pretty much just "traced" the most of it with the pen tool. I did make a few minor changes, like adding pupils into the eyes. Pupil-less eyes just look soulless and blank to me. *shrug* And of course, a redraw requires a recolor, so I did that too. It's kind of hard to make an image that starts small look as good bigger, but I tried anyway.

Here's a whole mess of Eddie Izzard icons I've held onto forever and a day.

Lots of animated Eddies under here! )

Thirty Dr. Horrible icons can be found right here:

I was going to put them all in the post, but I'm lazy and the first time I tried, it came out all weird. So there you go. :p

Not the best icons EVAR, but I like 'em. I don't care if you credit me for them or if you don't, so feel free to share. :)

I was bored. Feel free to steal.

Ugh. Insomnia. I'm bored. I updated my user info for no real reason. I had a conversation with someone not long ago about icons, and felt I needed to add something in there regarding that. That was the condensed version, and I'll expand upon that a bit here.
I don't mean to sound bitchy or mean, but I am, so that's how it comes out. )

CJ's crashed out on the couch (he has tonight and tomorrow night off from school). There's not a damned thing on tv. So I made a new icon. Saw the pic last week and knew I'd saved it for a reason. *snerk*

I don't know if I care for this "day off" business if I don't have something to do planned. Well, something other than a half-dozen cat naps, anyway.

I started poking around looking for new ideas for icons, and I've come to the conclusion that I really won't be happy with certain icons unless I were to make them myself. Case in point would be any kind of fandom I may be into. I was looking for some stuff from Kingdom Hearts II, like bases and screenshots. It's made me realize: I hate these goddamn shippers (people who wish that people in their fandoms will hook up, no matter how illogical).

It's a video game, geared and marketed primarily toward children. Why can't you shippers just enjoy it for what it is? Why must you bring the buttsex into everything I enjoy? I did find a few really cute icons, and there were some that would have been my favorites, if it weren't for the text declaring "AXEL/ROXAS OTP!!11!" that just killed it for me. For the life of me, I'll never understand what is sexy about prepubescent boys snuggling up to each other (or otherwise). Oh, and just for the record, if someone was shipping Kairi and Namine (which would just be fucking weird), I'd have the same opinion. I could go on for days about this stuff is wronger than a wrong gnome making love to my face, but I have other gripes.

With video games like KHII, you come to expect some spectacular graphics, and with KHII, I have been quite happy with them. So when I want to find or make icons of said game, I'd like them to be as pretty as the game itself looked on my tv. So many of the icons I've seen were nice from a design standpoint, but it was difficult to discern exactly what was in them. I don't want to post examples and single anyone out (though it's tempting). It's things like multiple overlays and one font over a different font on the text that can get hard on the eyes. It's a 100x100 pixel graphic. It seems that people would take that into consideration when making these things. It's not easy translating an image and message that you like into that small a space. Seems to me like keeping it simpler would make a better impact, but that's just me.

And finally, before I go into complete and total tangent mode, what is with the tiny text? I've seen them on a number of icons, and in some icon communities, the creator will let you know what the tiny text says. Um, what's the point? Really, someone explain this to me. Is it a secret message? Do I need a decoder ring or something? If you ask me, if someone has to ask you what the text on your icon says because it's too small to read, it really shouldn't be there. Put a squiggle there or something instead. I don't know of anyone who's going to take the time to save your Riku icon that says "LOVE" in pt 36 and a paragraph that a gnat couldn't read so that they can enlarge it enough to see what it says.

Maybe I'm out of the loop, just don't get it, whatever. I know what I like. And I know what I don't like, and I'll be sure to let EVERYONE know about it. Cause that's what I do. You can all stop cowering now, my ranting is done for the night. *eats pasta*

It's pretty dead on actually, and about what my hair looks like now (when I've got it straightened out. Right now it's a frizzy mess. Thank you humidity

As a funny little stunt, Mario and I switched avatars on MW today. It was for a couple of reasons. For one, because we've both got a little bit of a problem with people that won't leave us alone. For two, because it's funny. Probably more for the second reason more than anything else. Only problem is, I can't make a serious post because the goofy avatar negates any amount of seriousness I put into it! So we probably won't keep that up for long. But damned if it isn't hilarious.

I think he's intent on spoiling me rotten. He's already sent me a birthday present (I hope it shows up tomorrow!) and wants to get me something for Mother's Day and for me to give him some ideas for Christmas. What a doll. :)

I'm going to start working on a writing assignment given to me by a friend that may be able to help me make some money off my writing for once. I'll write more about that once I have some more info. Don't want to jinx anything.

Still hunting job and apartment. Not going to obsess until I get something. So for now, here's this:

I make new icons! Love them. Worship them. Steal them at your leisure.

Think I might actually sleep now.
